Hi, I’m Axel.

I build apps for Mac and iPhone that quietly solve problems – like Textschleuse and Sixteen.

Projects

About

Hi, I'm Axel. I come from product management in energy and mobility, have helped build teams and companies – company building, leadership, HR – and build my own apps on the side: tools that fix one concrete annoyance and send nothing to the internet.

I like software you understand in three seconds, and things that stay on your own computer.

What drives me

Outdoors

Trail running · Climbing · Spikeball

On the trail, only the next step counts. Outdoors I feel connected – to trees that grow, to a river you can swim in. I’m grateful for it and want to preserve it as best I can.

Leadership↓

How I lead and work

Seven principles and one rule that carries them all.

Europe’s sovereignty

Europe on its own feet – digitally, economically, in energy.

I don’t just want that, I build towards it:

  • This site runs on a server in Germany.
  • My apps need no cloud – your data stays with you.
  • The domain: .eu

Values

Inspired by Amazon’s Leadership Principles – shortened and in my own words.

Single-Threaded Ownership

One person, one topic, one hundred percent. Whoever owns something does nothing else on the side.

Customer Obsession

Start from the user, not the competition.

Ownership

Think long term, never “not my job”.

Invent and Simplify

Try new things – and make them simpler.

Bias for Action

Make reversible decisions fast.

Dive Deep

Know the details, question the numbers.

Have Backbone; Disagree and Commit

Disagree – then commit fully.

Deliver Results

Results count, not activity.
